About the Estate
Salix of the Valley is a private, single-use residential estate secluded within the reserve sandalwood forests of Marayoor, Idukki. Operating on an uncompromising respect for natural hydrology, raw geological mass, and the sacredness of silence, the estate serves to re-contextualize architecture as a transcendent artistic medium.
This raison d'être, coupled with a disciplined, architectural choreography, results in a sanctuary that sits at the vanguard of ecological futurism. This is a residence designed for the secular ritual of living, rather than the mere act of staying.
We welcome you to the architecture.
Conceptual programming and geographic profiling initiated in the summer of 2024. The studio is currently concluding land site curation, environmental impact matrices, and subterranean hydrological blueprints. Following the monsoon cycle, the estate breaks ground on a disciplined, multi-year construction schedule to execute the complex kiln-cast glass fabrication and subterranean bedrock excavation.
Upon completion, the living threshold opens exclusively to private estate buyouts, seasonal retreats, and curated creative residencies. The spatial choreography and aesthetic vision are directed by our principal studio. The atelier is currently headed by our founder and creative director Salma Shaik.
